I have removed and cleaned the projector lens, whilst changing side lights to LED's, this appears to have made quite a difference to the quality of the light. I did notice that the silver reflectors were beginning to show signs of damage so I have started to turn just the side lights on when driving during the day to try and preserve them for a long as possible. I still need to get the beam adjusted up but haven't been doing much driving lately so that will have to wait.

Can anybody recommend a good quality replacement DS2 xenon bulb, depending on cost I would like to give changing them a go to see what improvement this would gain.

Cheers.

I want to change my 4300k xenon d2s bulbs too, i was thinking of replacing them with Philips 6000K d2s bulbs. Will it be fine, or would I blow the ballast?

They will be fine , just a different colour ,
the 6000 k bulbs are whiter on the point of blue but give out less light , if you want more light the lower the kelvin the better.. ie 4300 k

I think the best light output is 4800k, since you can't get this output for HID bulbs the closest and best is 5000k.

Would you guys say that 5000K offers the best compromise between colour (Whiter) and illumination?

Is there a good bulb that can be recommended as a replacement in an oem xenon headlight? I presume the ones I have at the moment are the original ones, I haven't noticed anything in amongst the receipts that came with the service history to suggest otherwise. Also they don't appear to be quite the same colour, is this a sign that they could be on their way out?

I would certainly say 5000k is the best output IMHO.

Not sure the best place to source replacements. I did see a post on here somewhere with some advice. Google it?

I've had a look in the manual and it states that the factory xenon bulbs are 35W. My question is if I were to buy a 55W bulb, would the original ballast be able to make use of the extra wattage, could the bulb damage the unit/ballast in anyway or would I be better to just replace with a standard 35W bulb?
