Weeeeell, come on! If you say you are thinking of one brand of 'chip' over another, then you will get the 'oh you shouldn't have that because......' brigade all over you won't ya? So that statement was basically p155ing in the wind to start with! lol. :)

An entertaining thread indeed.

Indeed, but you see.. I wasn't. I wanted to compare the 280 vs the 304 upgrade, both of which are RICA branded. ;)

Too true but this post has shown that Chip Tuning Ltd's Website was incorrect by claiming figures for a large number of cars and has adjusted it's advertising to take this into account.

Quote "Please note that the actual post-upgrade power and torque figures will vary depending on many factors, including the age and condition of your car."

Example 304BHP for a 10yr old T5R.

So discussing a 304BHP chip is not really worth it, because you will more than likley not see that figure.

Buy the 280BHP upgrade it seems far more likley that you might get near this figure.

Regards

Iain

Iain,

In which case most of this thread has been pointless, because if you refer to page 1, yes page 1 of this thread, you will see that I wrote the following -

========
"You definately notice the difference between the two. However...

On the 850 models we now tend to recommend the 280 upgrade for the simple reason that you often need to spend money on other items to get the car up to scratch so that you can make the most of the 304. For the 850 models with high mileage and owners not wanting to spend a fortune on them, the 280 upgrade is for that purpose.

By opting for the 280, not only does it cost you less to buy, it lets you run on 95 all day long and is not so picky about things like plugs etc, so overall it costs less to run too.

Price for the 280 is £290 + VAT and includes diagnostics and testing.

Price for the 304 is £400 + VAT and includes diagnostics, actuator adjustment, and other post upgrade checks to ensure maximum performance."
========

So you see, the recommendation for the 280 upgrade has already been made!!!

Adam.

Opps

Quote"The price of products (including VAT) must be clearly indicated with the evidence of the expected performance increase of each product."

Taken from "Policy on posts by commercial organisations" (Aug 14th 2005)

Seems your in breach of the rules again.

Regards

Iain

No, this was a copy and paste. If I corrected the paste, it would not be a direct quote of what I wrote.

This thread is turning into a farce, I posted the following near the beginning: Hi Adam, can you include the VAT inclusive price when quoting your prices as per the new rules as it makes it easier for people to see what the total price is. It would be also very useful to list the expected performance increases in bhp and torque or have a link to data showing the expected performance increases after chipping that forum members can expect if they invest in your products. The thread will now be locked.
