Good man
If you get bored have a look here - some people really take it to the extreme though, but the key to higher MPG is more forward planning let me know if you crack the magic barrier!

Sad to be obsessive but 132p a litre focus the mind. Just seen on the news at 142p a litre.
V40 diesel, renault engine. 184k Trip reads 52.7 with average 34mph. Was topping 55 in the summer. I have a beautiful drive to work in North Wales 44mile round trip Blaenau to Dolgellau no hold ups. CC at 56mph when possible. Boring but jeeez these prices are crippling me, I weep for you T4 on longish commute [but secretly envious cos any weight of foot makes no difference in my v40 for several minutes!!] |

My V70 T5 manages a pretty poor 27mpg overall. If there is any town driving its down to 18mpg.

i can get around between 24 and 25 average mpg in my 2.0 petrol s40 with a manual box round the town, but on a motorway with cruise control i can get up to 35mpg average at 70 mph (i can bring myself to go slower than that).

......i did have a spate of 36mpg with the T4 on a very long run up the M ways but i think it was a fluke and i worked it out wrong.......at the moment on two seperate 230mile runs at 85+ the info says 46mph average and 28.00mpg.......the wastegate is turned up by 4 turns and it sure accelerates well but of course that is only for a short space of time so i am thinking of reducing the turns and then see what the mpg it will obtain, at the price of Optimax down South 138.9p it`s no joke although i use the car only once a week......i almost put 95 octane in at 10p a litre less but then thought i would rather pay a little at a time rather than £800 in a years time when the valves burn out!!......

do you guys find any difference in using shell v-power, i can't warrant paying an extra 10p a litre if it is not going to make much difference. i mainly use my car for a alot of short town journeys.
