May be able to make it after all! Having to swap days off at work. Providing I can swap days off and the diver rescue training I am swapping days for, doesn't take too long I will just skip an exit on the A1.

Diver rescue! Although maybe not in this country, waters are much to cold!

I've done my Advanced Diver. Love it! Can't wait to go again but not in this country! Don't like cold water plus visibility ain't great!

Unless anyone else is bringing a better camera (mine is just a point & shoot), then I'll stop between the initial meet and the pub and take some photos of the passing convoy...
Obviously, I won't be able to show the way to the pub if I am at the side of the road with my camera, so to avoid anyone getting lost at junctions etc, I would suggest the following route:

Turn right at roundabout onto Wighill Lane.
At T-junction with Church ahead of you, turn right towards Tadcaster.
Enter Tadcaster, then turn right at traffic-light controlled X-roads onto A659.
Continue straight through Tadcaster town centre.
Turn left onto A162 at traffic lights next to brewery.
Continue along A162 over four roundabouts.
At fifth roundabout, turn left onto A63 and enter Monk Fryston.
Drive straight through Monk Fryston and follow A63 into Hambleton.
The Owl is on the main road, on your right hand side.
