After stripping down the supercharger it was revealed that something similar to "sound proofing material" and a tool bit were inside! The material had wrapped itself around the supercharger blades, which are damaged, it's a wonder it worked at all or didn't blow up. Volvo technicians stated that the only way this could have happened is if the engine had been run while the air filter was removed.
Interesting to note that the previous owner had a K&N Filter fitted, first thing I noticed when I opened the bonnet was the huge sticker on the air filter. Only he knows who fitted it and what might have happened. BTW to have an exchange replacement supercharger fitted will cost you £1,495 IMG_1766.jpg IMG_1768.jpg IMG_1764.jpg |

V60 T6 Polestar
Recently fitted 20 mm spacers from Heico (outrageously expensive and overpriced) but fills the arches out nicely didn't need to have them rolled just cut away some of the inner liner.
