No it’s not, search the forum, it was reinstated with v2.1

It doesn’t work on mine, when I inquired about it to Volvo l received this email today
I am sorry to hear of your disappointment with the sound system in your 2023 V90. I'm aware that the media via USB function was disabled in our newer models due to a lack of demand.

I completely understand your frustrations in not being able to use the USB media as intended. Whilst we don't have any current plans to re-introduce this feature, I will of course pass your feedback on to our Product Follow Up Team for future consideration.

Med vänliga hälsningar

Kind regards,
Connie

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that Connie is better placed than you regarding the USB media port.

Like I said, if you bothered to do a search, you would find it does work after 2.1 and it’s likely you have your USB formatted incorrectly. Connie probably doesn’t even drive a Volvo!

ignore S90, he's a keyboard warrior who likes to flame and has nothing useful to say even when he is correct.
I can play music via the USB (the one with the white frame) using AudioWagon. You have to format using FAT32. It's worth visiting the website that has full instructions on how to get it working. https://moleman1024.github.io/audiowagon/

Just re-reading the Volvo statement "due to a lack of demand" .... how stupid a response that is.

It's in the same ballpark like 'limited number of customers', sometimes I think they all use the same hymn book...

(and yes, I could have been impacted myself as I do own iPod that permanently lives in my car...)

It's a global business and one largeish importer will have *some* influence on the centre with the feedback it can give from its market. Realistically, I wouldn't expect a commitment to fix other than ' we're working on it and this is the timescale'.

I agree that the Auto Express route of 'lots of Volvo owners have been telling us about problems with their infotainment' is probably your best hope for shining a spotlight.I

I still haven't seen VW fix their wonky touch screens or slider controls and people have been complaining for about 2 years now. Patience?

With most of the younger generation (and some of the older generation) switching to full online media streaming services (Spotify, Prime Music etc), Volvo obviously saw a way to reduce costs as less people would be using the USB connection for music/media play. It was the same when all manufacturers moved away from CD's in favour of USB media. Maybe its time to embrace the modern world and give it a try?
Similar to Volvo stopping production of some car models and specs in certain countries due to a supposed 'lack of demand'.

Thankfully for me, the lack of USB connectivity (whether there is one or not, I'm staying out of that argument) hasn't affected me as I do stream all my music from Spotify, which works very well on AAOS. Since taking delivery of my new car in June, I have not had a single buffering issue for any of my music, something that happened very frequently in my previous Sensus car.

The 'Lack of demand' part has (or will in the future) affect me as in Volvo's infinite wisdom, they have dropped the Polestar Engineered model in the UK meaning that my current car will likely be my final Volvo as I am not a fan of the drive/handling of the non Polestar Engineered models, just too soft and floaty feeling for my liking.
It appears that PE's are still available in many left hand drive markets meaning Volvo cant don't want to spend extra to build right had drive versions.
