The way I see it is the current leader of the Tories and a potential new PM from Labour are both no good. Its bad no matter what way we look at it.

Its easy for Starmer to point the finger from the opposition bench, but what's he going to do different? I think Starmer will be just as bad as Sunak, if not worse. Starmer always says that the British people deserve better. Let's see how he does when he's in the hot seat, which he likely will be.

I think people are just sick to the teeth of the Tories and will vote Labour to finally get rid of the Tories. I don't think its because they "like" Starmer.
I particularly love the loud announcement this week that Labour policy will be payed for by going after 'Tax dodgers'. Which doesn't play well when the Deputy Leader is being investigated for being a tax dodger.

Laugh or cry, your choice.

Sadly, that is all so true...

I don’t think,” let the other party have a go ,” is a good enough reason to vote for them and I’ve heard it too often.

Yep it was announced by Borish Johnson, probably whilst Carrie was playing with his willy, in November 2020, safe in the knowledge he wouldn't be around when it came into force to deal with the consequences (although he probably didn't realise he wouldn't be around just 2 years later...).

Rishi had the commonsense to realise it was impractical and pushed it back to 2035 to much fury from the motor industry who had set huge profit forecasts on the back of selling lots of EV's.

My bet is as we approach 2035 it will be delayed again but with restrictions - i.e. only small engined cars etc. maybe 1.3L petrol and 1.6L diesel, and commercial/services cars.

I seriously think diesel is on its last legs, with the advent of event tighter emission control they are becoming a pain to keep reliable. I've got a hankering for a BMW 640d, but oh my! The insurance! Group 51!

Turning the pain up to eleventy.

We’re about to get a default government…. Never bodes well. The ICE cut off has been pushed back to 2035 but Starmer has made noises about bringing it back to the original 2030 date if he gets into power. They’ve got a lot of work to do to get all that infrastructure in if they do.

That’s what will happen. Wait and see. Labour will win the local elections by a landslide and I think they’ll win the general election by a landslide too. There’s other parties, but realistically, they’ll never get in power. Its all about the Tories and Labour.

I can’t see it happening. I don’t think its possible.

More like Starmer will get in, promise it and then realises it’ll never happen and it’ll get pushed back again.

I agree. They’re great when they’re running ok, it’s if something goes wrong the fun begins. The sensors are stupidly expensive and it seems getting the Adblue balance right etc. I have a 1.5 diesel Ford Connect which get worked hard but the wet timing belts are a problem. They also perish the turbo pipes which pop having the side effect of clogging up the DPF if you don’t stop soon etc etc. I loss the old snot and sawdust diesels

I agree, we’ll get a wishy washy excuse to why it’s going to stay 2035. In reality it’s gunna have to be at least 2035 to get a just about sufficient structure in place.

I think so too. My next car definitely won't be a diesel.

I'm thinking petrol hybrid or fully electric, but I'm not 100% sure. There's not really many hybrid's about that are reasonably priced. Toyota Prius for example... I'm unsure of them. I'm not sure if I like the looks. However, I do like the idea of not having range anxiety. In the same breath, I like the idea of not having much to service in having an EV. No oil changes, no cam belt or EGR valves to name but a few.
