Hi Engineer

I'm a bit about all this. The turbo was sold to Pedro as a 19T - he's found out it isn't what it was supposed to be and doesn't want to risk fitting it......I'm not sure why Pedro is getting some stick tbh.

It smells to me as though there's a good deal of Billy Bullship flying around. Best thing, don't believe what you hear unless you hear it from the horses mouth

I think only the person that took it off the car in the first instance, can verify what it is and put this part of the thread to rest,

Gary.

Hi Gary

I don't know what the problem is! I can speak for Pedro that he is not bothered about the whole episode and come to that, nor am I. Somewhere along the line a mistake has been made & Pedro bought a 19T which turned out to be something else - so what.

Let's hope it doesn't need putting to rest

*coughs*

OK this is very simple it's a hybrid. 18t bottom end 19t top end so it doesn't require a new downpipe etc. It had a 360# bearing etc and trust me it was quick. A certain mechanic in Kent can attest to all this as he was the one who pulled it originally from my car when I fitted my 19T. At the time I wasn't aware the car was fitted with the hybrid.

Julie it is what it was sold as, contrary to the fitters, who could not tell what it was, not sure why you have to get involved imho,

Gary

Errrrm, I started this thread so I think that entitles me to post about this subject, especially as I know the facts.

I also have an issue with the tuner concerned but they did the right thing with Pedro & it would be unfair for anyone to state otherwise.

I do not want to fall out with anyone over this, or anything, so please just let's leave it at that & enjoy our Volvos, life & our friends

If you mean 19t intake and 18t exhuast, then thats what the tuner that pedro took his car to tend to fit now. and they claim an amazing (if not dubious in my view) 330bhp. so thats 10bhp difference by their figure from a 19t with the angled flange. so i cant see why you wouldnt still fit it.

however, a question to pedro - did you not question the fact it had a straight flange?

andrew, how does your new 19t compare to the turbo that came off?

however as has been mentioned, pedro wants a 19t with an angled flange, siamblue has given a refund and sold to someone else. everyones happy.

Hi All

I personaly removed this turbo from Andrews car and the unit is an 18t hybrid with an 18t exhaust housing/wheel and hybrid front internals.

Hope this clears things up.

Thanks Stuart

the intake was off a 18t, they compared it to a 19t they had in stock & it was smaller

erm nope i've got no idea what turbo has what flange, i was told i'd need to fit the different downpipe which Siam supplied with the turbo & was happy with that
