"Could" have been.
It "could" have been the Marshmallow Man or 100 duck sized horses, they are both more likely than a motorcycle doing that kind of damage and then walking/riding away from it. How fast could the motorcycle have been going when it hit your car, (if one did .. ) based on the cars location in the cul-de-sac? Did you hear a motorcycle come past, followed by a loud bang, some scraping, and then the sound of a motorbike being started and ridden off again? They're pretty loud as I'm sure you are aware. In my experience as a motorcyclist (22 years) and my experience of Cul de Sacs (39 years) I would say it is almost impossible for a motorcycle to get up to anywhere enough speed in a Cul de Sac to cause anything like this damage. Cul de Sacs are generally quite small with not a huge amount of room for manoeuvre making it almost impossible for a motorcycle to cause this, unless of course it came hurtling around a corner at speed and then as has been said there would be bits of bike and rider everywhere.
I do hold my hat off to you Zeb, you are doing an excellent job of standing by your story, however manufactured it is ![]()

This thread has cracked me right up
I don`t know zeb at all but if i was him i`d be down to the nearest main dealer to get the car sorted out asap Those numbers on the alignment sheet show that the steering geometry was well out of normal spec and the rear wheel was just as bad No amount of adjustment is gonna fix what is clearly damaged parts underneath all relating to the drivability and safety of the car If it was mine it`d be on a feckin AA truck to the nearest dealer to have it all corrected before i even got behind the wheel and turned the key again Cheers stuart |

My steering wheel looked like that after I Kerbed my old mk IV Golf GTI doing about 30 mph (got forced off road by a lorry driver swerving out... b*stard!!), drove like an absolute pig after (whilst limping home) and DTC light kept flashing on... the resulting damage was a severely bent wishbone. Even after that I still had problems with it pulling to the left!
You def need to get that repaired as messing about with the tracking to bring things in line and straighten the steering is just masking the underlying issue. It's like changing your walking pattern to get around a broken foot!! Last edited by DannyG; Feb 5th, 2013 at 23:05. |

I have to admit it's been amusing to follow. Akin to this thread http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=106440 from some time ago.
Never nice to amuse oneself at anyone's misfortune but it's like an online thread version of Lewis.

I wonder if we shall ever see a grain of truth in this tale? In my 26 years of driving i have "kerbed" the car a few times scraping the steel wheels or alloys, but never to this extent.
Clattered a kerb in a Fiat once and bent a suspension component on it. Hired car so didnt give a damn, but havent seen anything like this, " I am going to tell you a story". Jackanory would be proud. Perhaps the forum has a budding short story teller here? |

I'm not sure I would admit to dabbling in a bit of drifting on the internet.
