Having read the above, perhaps it does not explain the 61 deaths in Aberdeenshire so far this year, only one of which was attributed to "accidental" status.
Most were attributed to excessive speed for the road location and conditions at the time.
Driver training is what is required. The current test is a joke.
I personaly believe re-sits every 10 or 15 years should be compulsory.

Sorry v70 i did not say you personally were gobby etc it was a general comment about young lads and meant in a lighthearted way, however you do come across as rather bitter and resentfull of todays youngsters, i had to smile at your comments about hot hatches, noisy stereos, lights under the cars etc, you must have led a very sheltered youth ,i can well remember my older brother who is now in his late forties and his friends all having very loud tuned escorts, dolly sprints, capris etc often with the back end jacked up and red lights under the diffs which they drove like lunatics with the stereos at full blast! not a whole lot different from todays kids really, and not a lot different from my dads generation who rode very noisy triumph bonnies, norton dominators, etc and scared the life out of the older generation at margate on a bank holiday weekend!.

Hi shoney, no offence taken, but I certainly was not aware of the events you describe. Perhaps it was my sheltered upbringing on a military establishment. Thats not to say the things you describe did not happen but I would add it was perhaps not as prevelant as it is today.
