I wish you the best of luck 4WD - must be a nightmare for you.
No matter what claptrap VolvoUK come out with - as your car is dangerous, you have every right to approach the manufacturer or dealer with your legal correspondence. Might be an idea to mention this to your Solicitor should you wish to go down that route. Good luck

Once upon a time...
In a distant age (the '70s.) In a facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Where all European vehicles landed for dispersal to all North American points. I've seen BLMs sitting for almost a year before they got "upgraded" and re-designated before they were shipped out. Upgraded consisted of; striping packages, new style bumpers, odds and sods changed out and general fluffing in the shops. Which did include all fluid changes and tire replacement. At least they were safe for the road. We had some 'hacks' that were used on a daily basis around the compounds for picking up drivers and general (ab)use. These were usually problem cars that the manufacturers had written off as unserviceable for one reason or another and bequethed unto Autoport for their use. It seems that you may be a victim of this scenario at a dealer level. That, I am afraid, is where the buck stops. (Excuse the pun.) Sitting for that time. No service? Did you pick it out? Or. Was it picked out for you? We had a guy here that bought a truck from the dealer. It was a dog. Similar to your situation. He got no respect. So...he put a sign, from a professional sign maker, on the tailgate. "***** Dodge don't buy from them." He was subsequently sued to remove the offending statement. I think he's driving a Chev now. That aside...Volvo is not what it used to be. The Volvo family still lives on. It is the people that believe in the vehicle and feel compelled to help out their family member in any way they can. Your Mom has a C30? Excellent! Steve 'Big hug' We'll help you through this. Last edited by SteveTSlade; May 9th, 2009 at 00:29. |

Well new fault appeared this morning. LOW BATTERY WARNING. 4th visit to the dealers in 11 days coming up on Tuesday. Week past friday, Thurs to meet VCUK engineer (EXTREMELY helpful guy) to SHOW him what it was doing wrong, Friday to get the door lock changed that should have been done when they had it for 5 weeks and now Tuesday coming. Enough surely has to be enough by now????????????

Update
Engineer from VCUk called this morning and explained that he has spoken to the factory and that the gearbox is performing "as near as it should be to normal" although he feels that the knocking noise COULD be injectors but it needs to be investigated further. Injectors on a car with 5000 miles?? Oh dear. He's is also a bit stumped as to why the low battery warning came on the other week. Waiting to hear what VCUks next step is going to be.

Well the next step is have the car sent to tech dept at Daventry to have all the ongoing problems diagnosed and fixed!! Trade it in on a favourable deal on another XC90!!! (HAHA!!) Or continue for the rejection against Doves in which case VCUk are stepping out of the argument altogether. Also been told that (funnily enough) Doves version of events re the My08 for an MY09 is TOTALLY different from mine....... SHOCK!! HORROR!!!
Politely declined the 1st two offers and going down the court route to recoup my losses. Ive a email paperwork trail to back up my side of things as I told VCUk. Just wonder how much Doves will manage to come up with?? So if you see a garage coming under the heading of CAMBRIA AUTOMOBILES, SUMMIT GROUP, INVICTA OR MOTORPARKS! Then leg it out the door.......... Thanks for the support shown by the majority of you through this!!! 4WD
