Question New XC90 speedo display

Can anyone who's got a new XC90 tell me if you can change the digital speedo display from Imperial to Metric units please.

Regards.

TG

This is in my view one of the main points Volvo need to address to be able to compete the it's German competitors
Don't forget those are optimistic predictions of resale value from a dealers forecourt, not what you will get from a trade in, and still too high for a private sale. what will keep all the new cars at a high level will be lack of pre-owned vehicles for the first 3 years then the values will fall to a much more realistic level when stock becomes available.

You can change the digital speed readout from mph to kmh but not the actual dial. If you want to read up on the car you can read the manual, both the D5 and the T8 manuals are on the UK website.

image.jpgHi folks
Attempting to attach a few pics of our First Edition. Not convinced it's going to work from my phone but here goes.

I've been impressed with the D5 motor. It's a little harsh at times but gives decent punch, for example, if overtaking from moderate speeds. The whole car seems nicely put together. The seats are superb. Not sure how these vary across specs but in the FE they are hugely adjustable, with elec under thigh support, lumbar bags, side bags, height, heated and ventillAted. Can't see how you could criticise them. They are the best I've sat in.

Centre screen works brilliantly. This is a massive step up that takes the car to a very rarified area.

If pics fail now I'll try again soon.

Absolutely no chance I will pay that for a car. Will wait a few years and let the first owner take the massive depreciation .

Totally off topic but I wonder if there will be a new forum section for this latest gen XC90? I hope not. mickv seems pretty grounded but my goodness the new owners over on Swedespeed are a precious lot!

I am convinced prices will fall significantly over the next 18 months. The hybrid Q7 and hybrid X5 will see to that.

The problem is I am rather an inpatient kind of guy( am I the only one?).

I dont share you're confidence in that statement.

T8s arent due for delivery for approx. another year and they will be sold out for months if not years in advance.

(basing the above assertion on the sales/production of the V60 PiH).

I wouldnt be that confident the X5 hybrid etc will nick too many sales either. BMWs effort at least if pretty 1/2 hearted in comparison to Volvo with nearly 100bhp less, significantly less range, a diesel engine in place of petrol and in most parts of Europe (not sure about UK) it falls in to a significantly higher tax bracket for business users.

Maybe, but you are not factoring in badge snobbery.Just how many footballers or their WAGS will you see in a XC90 even if it does 0-60 in 2.9sec?

The fact is BMW, Audi, and RR have that aura, justified or not.

The volvo loyal fan base will remain, but there are many others who will migrate for varying reasons. I love volvo, but left for the BMW X5 due to the previous (archaic) XC90.
