Yeah I've done a lot of asking around and my options for the 850R now are either (in price order)!

1) 18T
2) 19T & 3" downpipe
3) VT Hybrid like Chris went for
4) SW Autos custom engine build

Got Russell from RT coming back to me at some point with a few different options.

Then again perhaps another option would be to take my car into a turbo specialist and get them to sort it out / strengthen it or something? This would be the uber cheap option if it turned out ok!

Default Turbo options.

There is really very little difference between the 18T which you can fit to your existing downpipe or the 19T where you will have to change the downpipe to either a used standard one or a Ferrita with 100cel Kemira cat or similar.

You could however look at the proper Turbo Technics Garrett Hybrid which is used by some regulars here with MTE software to very good effect on both T5's and the T4.

Regards, Don

Thanks for that Don. What kind of power increase would be seen from changing to one of these hybrids with one of your MTE maps?

Oh and how much does it cost!

I think the main point is will an 18T make much difference to what I have now, and if the answer is no then it would mean a 3" downpipe & race cat anyway so would make sense to fit a bigger / better turbo than the 19T?

Where's the best place to get it done too? I'm based in NW London (near Uxbridge).

Cheers

Default Power Graph

Here's a power graph from my car a T5R with 2.5 cat back and Turbo Technics Garrett Hybrid T28 running MTE software:

Thanks Iain, so does that turbo not need a 3" downpipe, and I'm assuming your keeping the power to around 300 not because of the turbo limitations, but because of the T-5R standard internals?

Right and Right, i'm guessing it could go alot higher if you wanted it too. The turbo is rated at 1.6 bar but i run around 1.2. Talk to Turbo Technics about it they seem to know what they are doing

This is where it gets a bit unclear. Do they (TT) just supply the turbo and don't take the car in, fit it all, remap etc.

So then wouldn't it be best for me to take the car to somewhere like SW and get everything done in one place.

Anyone know if SW will order & fit this turbo? Sounds like a good move if it fits onto the standard DP. Can I ask what it costs?

Cheers
