Also be wary of potential import duty.

Is there anyone that would care to comment on either of these? Are the genuine thing or would they be from China and sold out of the UK?

They most probably will be but Autel are anyway. The problem is Chinese cloning the Chinese. My advice would be to use this place. There is a landline phone number and someone to talk to. If what I hear is correct, they aim to be the sole UK importer of Autel/Maxidiag? search for 'beat the garage' and make your own mind up.They also trade under that banner on Ebay.

Do you know anyone who sells a good one?
Hi

If you have these options (and need them) then it would be a sure sign of the box being of a very receint design. All the "original" clones I have seen did not have either option... and only the later ones had them.

You may not use these facilities, but at least it shows the unit is a later and presumably, better design.

As for sellers, they seem to change as do what they sell - I would ask any seller if these features are provided and also what version of software is supplied with the box - its better to get it at once than try to source (by whatever means) newer software later.

Lastly - and the subject of much debate already - I personally would be reluctant to flash any clone box with later genuine Volvo firmware as you have no guarantee as to how close a clone actually is to the real thing - its your risk. You could even ask the seller if they support (under their warranty!) the flasing if the box - I suspect most will say don't do it.

It would appear that this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT is sold by these people http://www.discountdiagnostics.co.uk...maxidiag-us703. One would assume they are the genuine article. Any thoughts from anyone please?

I looked on fleabay only yesterday and never saw it so it must be either described obscurely or spelt incorrectly.

I was gutted, mean't to look at 5pm when it finished (it was at £10 when I last looked!). Remembered at 8pm and it had already sold for less than £50 including the postage!

Item number was 160551918790
