Default rearview mirror LED

hi to you all have just took the leap and bought a 2007 se lux, have been going through some things have swapped the front position light and side lights for LEDs have also swapped the fried egg effect rear indicator bulbs for silver, i was wondering a couple of things not sure if the rearview mirror has a built in small led to give a mood light for the dash, also how do you swap or change the bulbs in the wing mirrors as i cannot see how they come apart, many thanks for your help

The rear-view mirror has a light sensor to dim the mirror in case a car behind you with main beam on. The dashboard is dimmed by a sensor in the radio unit (center console).
To open the mirror housing you need to adjust the mirror glass to the most inward postion. You can then get your fingers behind the glass and (gently) pull the mirror glass off. Behind there are some click-fixings and the whole housing will come apart

Thanks for the info on the mirrors, i see the sensor on the rearview, my rearview also has underneath a small square hole, in the middle, that would lend itself very nicely to a led, i hired a XC about two years ago it was an r design and cannot be 100% but was sure this had a small led in the rearview ??

Thanks

On a lot of XC90s you don't have to take out the wing mirror glass to change the puddle light bulb..check this post:

Quite easy, I put in white SMD LEDs in my car a little while ago.
