You should change the caliper. They tend to get sticky when hot, but appear to be fine when cold. As they get hotter, they get worse until they properly jam

If you're stuck, they best thing to do is jam a lever between the caliper and something steady (wheel spoke, for example) and pull the caliper open slightly. That will at least free off the brake until you apply the pedal again. That's what I did last evening! I put on a recon caliper in a matter half an hour this morning. Simple, simple job...

Cheers for the advice.

I did order the caliper but it did not turn up this morning...
Unfortunately I have to make a mega journey tomorrow morning starting at 0530.

I have a mcdonalds stop about 40 minutes in, so will check the temperatures, spray a little water on, and force the caliper off if required..

I did have a run today for 30 minutes, and it was ok. I could put my fingers directly on the disk for a few seconds. It did appear warmer than the other 3 still..

Caliper arriving for the weekend, so fingers crossed it does not cease on me tomorrow or I am stuffed...

Just a closure update.

Did the trip, after some breaking the faulty caliper really did get red hot, silly hot..

Pushing the pad off the disk, I could travel for the 50 miles along the A55 without breaking, and they stayed cold...

Anyways, replaced the £30 ebay caliper and all is sound..

All 4 wheels the same temp now after an aggressive run with plenty of braking. (Now a week later)

So thanks, and the replacement caliper fixed it.

I did bleed all four corners and used the 5.1 fluid recommended, interesting easy and fulfilling job done!!.
