Default Wortley Hall classic car rally

The family Woodman went to Wortley Hall classic car rally today. A beautiful sunny day, a splendid setting, Worsborough brass band and not forgetting Bobby Bubbles the children's entertainer.......Anyway, there was a 144 Deluxe and a 123GT in full rally get-up there, but no-one around to claim responsibility for either, so I didn't get to meet anyone!

I enjoyed the event, especially ogling the TR4s which are my ideal car, though I did feel a bit like I was wandering around an outdoor museum where the exhibitors spend a lot more time polishing their cars than driving them. I did give Magnus a quick wash before going to the event, but I still can't really see the point in owning a classic car just to polish it.

I'm odd. I actually like polishing my car! It gives me a nice warm feeling inside

I've nothing at all against polishing, don't get me wrong! I just think that driving ought to be involved too. There was a Beetle there whose engine bay was cleaner than my kitchen (which is very clean, I might add).

To be fair, the two Volvos did look like they were used on a pretty regular basis, and the 123GT in rally regalia also had a hipflask in the door pocket!

Yeah, I agree. I do drive mine every day, but I also polish under the bonnet and in the door shuts! I figure for the amount of money I've spent on the restoration, I want a nice layer of wax between the car and the atmosphere.
