Default I love her every day more and more...

Hi!

I've had my C30 2.0l more than 3 years now and have had a lot of "ups" and "downs" with her. The engine though has ALWAYS worked. When I say always, I mean the engine is the most reliable part on the whole entire car! And I love it so much!!!

The last 3 days have been quite fun days here on the Continent... The C30 meeting allowed for a little fun... Believe it or not, that little "powerless" engine, with only 145 hp is easily capable, of overtaking and keeping up with a T5 at high speeds. Oddly, my car is written down (in it's papers) with a Vmax of 210 km/h (131 mph) but can do more, which is rather unusual

2.0l petrol on 19"s with 225s, reving at around 6000 rpm in 5th gear (that is around 220 km/h -> 137 mph!) and still accelerating... Oddly, a T5 on the same size wheels (just instead of 8.5" wide only 8.0") can't out accelerate...

Around 200 km/h (120 mph) it seems the T5 tends to "ease off" with its power... Dunno what rpm it has, but it doesn't seem to be in it's ideal revrange...

I'm not going potty. Nor am I an idiot... My friend couldn't disappear from my rear view mirror and couldn't gain enough speed to overtake me... Okay, the fuel consumption of 23.2l/100 km (is about 12 mpg!!!) at 220 km/h isn't really that nice, but hey, how often do I do it?

Just thought I'd say

Oh, and a 2.0d can do the same - up to 200 km/h But that on 205/55 R16 steel rims!

My little 2.0l? Not yet. It's been on a dyno though. 151.3 hp (should be 149 bhp). For a stock engine and without a turbo, not a bad result...
