Default Space Saver Wheel Well.... Whats Wrong Here Please?

Sounds a bit of a daft question but I can’t seem to figure out how the spare wheel well is organised. e.g. Where the scissor jack goes? Why I have two 'coat hanger' looking things? Why it all won’t fit?

Here are some pics of what’s it’s like under there. Can someone tell me what’s going wrong or how it’s meant to go or better still show me you're wells please

This is how it looks and the plastic things not locking the wheel down as there is a scissor jack under it.

And this is what is under the spare wheel.

Any help please?

Got a feeling, without looking at mine in the dark, that the wheel is supposed to be the other way up with the tools in it. The screw in plastic part will then hold the wheel securely and the jack etc will be held in place inside the wheel rim.

I'll try to have a look at mine tomorrow and get back to you unless I'm beaten to it of course, or completely wrong!!

Hazarding a guess from my previous Fords, I would think the jack should lay on its side and that the extra wire-bolt is meant to hold it in place. The wheel should then fit over the jack and the other tools. The longer wire-bolt will then hold the wheel down.

There are to screw holes for the wire bolts but can’t seem to figure out how the jack is going to lay to get the hole to match up and screw down hence why I'm needing some pics if possible to see where it is I'm going wrong?

The secret is that the jack goes in first, lying on its side with the silver crank handle on top. But the jack must not be fully closed, rather opened nearly to half way. Then lie the jack down in the middle of the well and fold in the silver crank handle and then the wheel wrench goes on the top

There are three holes in the fixing in the floor of the well. The jack is secured using the right hand hole and the spare wheel then sits on top secured using the hole on the left

That's the theory. In practice I tend to store the wheel wrench wrapped in a duster in one of the compartments between the spare wheel and the boot floor

There is a diagram in the owners manual but it is by no means easy to follow
