Default 480 Roof Box

This may sound a silly question, but is it possible to fit a roof box on a 480??, I would like to buy a 480, but have never studied the roof/guttering arrangement, and there are a few weekends that I travel and there would not be enough room inside the car for my gear, a roofbox for lighter items would solve my problem.
Thank you.

Hi,

I have looked into getting a roof rack for the 480. I dont know if a roof box will need a rack but I suspect it will (or simmilar mounting points).

The price I have been quoted for a roof-rack, the only one i could find to fit it, is £149.

It is so expensive because 480's have no rails in the roof and no rear doors meaning there is no rear anchor for anything. You have to buy about three conversion packs for standard roof bars.

Dont let that put you off... with the rear seat(s)down there is a lot of room. 480's are very fast - they handle so well round corners and feel like they are stuck to the road. AND they are so 80's and COOL. And the insurance is lower than other 2.0i or turbo cars as the VOLVO badge isn't assoc with boy racers.

Thank you for your reply, I am severely tempted to try a 480, but i am spoilt for room in my 240 estate, and have looked a one or two 480's but cannot bring myself to make that final leap.
Kevin.

I made the jump from an 850 T5 to a 480 Turbo. Yes i do miss the T5 but the 480 is just as much fun.
