Default Ocean race special edition

I've just seen that the XC60 Ocean Race special edition has appeared on the Volvo UK website although no pricing as yet and it's not on the configurator.

Strangely enough there's no info yet either about the new MY12 tweaks in performance and economy which is odd as dealers appear to have been taking orders?

The Ocean Race is in a very nice blue metallic with some very nice wheels,. I'm not sure about the interior though - very pale cream with some unusual inlays / patterns on the floating dash console!

I've never seen the appeal of these special editions, I guess some folk will like the novelty of them, they always look slightly cheap to me though

The current special edition Banana Tofee Muller rice on the other hand? MASSIVE THUMBS UP

My impression of the Volvo websites is that while they look smart and fashionable, the information on there often seems arbitrary, patchy and not up to date.
Also it can be incorrect. For instance, if you believe the website, the front rubber mats for all XC60s are those for a LHD auto as far as I can see.

Not sure what you are saying but I can assure you that they do make the mats in RHD - I have them in my car, they are an absolute godsend. They come as a set of 4 - 2 for the front and 2 for the rear.

Not all the mats are a good fit. My R-Design manual was supplied with special R-Design ribbed mats which were for a RHD auto (ie with a cut-out for a footrest), when I complained to both the dealer and Volvo CS they were both amazed to find that there was not a set of manual-specific mats for an R-Design in RHD. The compromise was that they gave me a set of rubber mats, but these are actually for a RHD auto too as they have a separate flap on the left for a footrest.

Volvo have told me that they will not update the XC60 section until all their MY12 prices and brochures are released. Then the website will be updated

Agree entirely - I purchased a set of mats for my manual XC60 DRIV-e and found out they only make them for auto box cars - ridiculous.
