Good Independent Worcs
Hi everyone - new forum member & new Volvo owner.
I am looking for a reliable independent Volvo speicalist to have some work done to my XC. We are in Worcestershire - near Kidderminster and would be happy to travel Dudley Halesowen etc for a good service & price. We have a problem with the Radio and Satnav & Park sensors - believe form reading other threads that this is a common problem with various fix options. Would appreciate any advice or tips. Cheers had posted this in Gen forum but have not had any replies so far - my 4 yr old is desperate to get the Rol.ling Stones (gimme Shelter) playing again |

OK, still no replies! Sorry.
I have tried searching for some ideas for you on this forum and others. I have two places that come recommended at first sight: 1. MRG Volvo in Chippenham (http://www.dealer.volvocars.co.uk/mrg/chippenham/) They are a main dealer but apparently they do discounts for forum members and people seem very pleased with their customer service and work. 2. Tim Williams based in Coalville, Leicestershire. I can't find a website for him but I believe his name on this forum is Mole, but he is definitely on the other forum T5D5.org. His name there is just Tim Williams, you will have to join up over there to send him a PM. I'm sorry they're not closer to you but it's a start. Give it a couple more days and you might get a better result. If you decide to do some DIY bits a lot of us can certainly recommend FRF Volvo for genuine parts at a good price (Rufe on this forum) or http://www.frfvolvo.co.uk/mo-volvo-parts.asp Best of luck, Jim. |

Have you heard or dealt with Snoops garage or Heritage - both based much closer to me in the Dudley-ish area?? Thanks |

Looking on google maps there are a few garages around that state they are Volvo specialists. If I were you, and no other recommendations come to light, I would phone a couple of the independents and get a price for the work. Get a price with them using genuine Volvo parts. Then phone your main dealer and tell them the best price you've had and see if they will get close. It's worked for me the times I've done it, and I found that my main dealer has been able to very closely match the Independents price; sometimes knocking off a couple of hundred £'s. Good luck. |

If you don't consider Cheltenham too far to travel I've used Bradford Motor Company for the last 3 years and would fully recommend. Expert knowledge of Volvo's and far, far cheaper than the main dealer network.
Click on the link for details - the website isn't the best, but don't let that put you off... http://www.cheltenham-volvo.co.uk/ |
