  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Question lights

just got my s80 0n 4th feb 2011 totally msitten. I have just replaced a position light on the nearside front, can anyone tell me how to cancel the display telling me it has failed or do I have to purchase a code reader/ visit a dealer? thanks for any help.

It should just go away on its own when you change the bulb.

..if it doesn't/hasn't..then replace the OTHER side bulb too.

I am not sure about the S80, but on my S60 the position light refers to one of the tail light bulbs. I don't believe the front (parking light) bulbs are monitored by the system!

Does that mean I can get some LED sidelights without having to mess about with resistors etc?
I managed to flatten the battery by mistakenly leaving the parking lights on and fancy a lower power alternative.

Yes, that is certainly the case for the S60, but it wouldnt help the battery, because the tail lights woud still be on, and they are monitored by the bulb failure system, and would require resistors if changed to led's!

Hi guys, just been out to look and yes I had missed the offside rear bulb lown. must have been some coincidence that both blew but in opposite corners. once again thanks very much for your help.
