Default 144 Sill covers

On that subject, my sill covers are aluminium and pretty grotty after 40 yrs wear. Are there stainless covers for this car. What are the plastic ones like. Other alternatives?

Being aluminium they're fairly easy to polish. They do end up shinier than original as they are anodised.

Lots of deep scratches. They would be paper thin by the time I polished them all out.

Not aware of any easy alternative. Mine has the plastic ones which I don't like, so I got hold of a set of aluminium ones in good condition - not easy to find tho.

Is it mainly the driver's (left) side front that's damaged on yours? If so, you might get a decent passenger-side (left) trim from a UK car?

My rear right is the worst. It's been mangled at some time. After 42 years can't expect them to be pristine. Will probably need to spend more time with pollish, then again I could pass it on to her indoors
