Its not a Mclaren F1 so don't sit in the middle and think the gear stick is not as comfortable to sit on as the drivers seat. There are 2 x vents next to one another on the centre stack. If I want both blowing towards me I want them to be at the same temperature.

The only volvo series which DOES enable you to lock the two sides together is the
S40/V50/C30/C70 the XC60 is based on this but does not have that facility which i agree is a backward step , you have twice the work to do adjusting both individualy . however one you find the temperature that suits you , you rarely need to alter it summer or winter ...

My Alfa 147 used to have that function which was really useful.

I always had my side low, whilst the wife always liked the passenger side warm. When I then used the car on my own a quick press of the drivers side control set the passenger side to the same temp.

I was really suprised the XC60 didn't do the same.

Have to agree with you KJ5cott - Comming from a C70 and 2x S40's prior to that, they both had the same separate heating controls for Driver and Passenger, but if you pressed the one on the drivers side they synced - I really miss that function ... I end up with the heating all over the place - can't be great for the compressor one side blowing cold and the other hot (as the wife had been in.. ha ha )

I must say that I too do find it terribly difficult to click the drivers side knob up and down, then have to reach another 125mm and turn another knob on the passenger side!

Getting my mind to work out the same temperature for each side is rapidly becoming beyond my failing mental facalties.

Much more important to me would be to get TWO rear fog lights working, without bringing up the bulb failure warnings, however a plan is in progress for this, watch this space.

Was reading your post about the fog lights and thought surely not. Went outside and checked and there is only one fog lamp! I'm gutted. I hate cars with only one rear fog light unless its in the middle. Maybe I just like symmetry like th heating controls! I will watch this space with interest!

Some people prefer adjusting both, I'm one of them. If many drivers adjust both, I think Volvo should consider enabling the double adjustment in future releases of the software. Think about it: Adjusting both dials takes longer time and will therefore keep the driver unconcentrated for a longer time period.
