Default 17 inc alloy's offset/tyre size.

hi all,
i want to get 17 inch alloys for my 850, what's the best offset to use as to avoid rubbing on full lock etc?

Alo what's the best tyre dimensions? would it be that same as the higher powered 850's?

many thanks.

I'm running 17" Satellites on my 850R (std fitment on the S60R I believe) with 215 45x17 tyres. As stated above, they do rub at full lock, but surprisingly, even on my factory lowered suspension the tyres do not rub on the rear wheelarches when full loaded - its so tight you can't get a finger in there, but its never rubbed.

BTW My reason for fitting the 215s was simply financial - when I was looking for a set the 215s were about £40 each cheaper than the correct 205 17s!

on my old 17's i ran 215/40/17 never rubbed. on the rear i even had some 245/40/17 (dont ask why) and they didnt rub either my t5 is 40mm lower than standard, think the alloys were 43mm offset

currently running 215/35/18 on my atreus alloys and they dont rub either are pinched though on 8" wide wheels theyve got 38mm offset on em.
