Brake caliper slide pin?
Does anyone know if you can get the slide pins separate for a 2000 V40? If not, can you clean up the ones that are in? We changed the rear brake pads yesterday and now the brake is smelling and getting really warm!

afaik the slider pins are only avaliable as part of the Whole unit.
you can clean them up, lube with copper slip and rebuild and that may stop them sticking and holding the brake on, When you fitted the new pads, did you Turn and push the pistons back in or just push them back in ? ,, the rear calipers Must be turned + push to get them to go back properly.

They were turned and pushed. Made that mistake last time! Will have to try cleaning them up and hope for best. Cheers.
