Very scary. This technology has been discussed for a while. There is even talk of cars driving themselves using signals picked up from transmitters placed at the side of the road.

It kinda makes you wonder what the point of owning a car will be in the future. If public transport is relaible and as futuristic is these car ideas then why will we need a car. The only real difference will be that a car is your own private cabin.

I believe the Volvo 'On call' system can do this ... also unlock your car if you leave the keys inside, call for an ambulance if you have a crash etc..

I suggest that you watch a programme called "Busted" on Men and Motors (Sky, 139). They can track and stop a car from 700 km away and show you it being done.

I guess this will also link in with DNA identity cards etc etc etc....

Bit of a change of track here but Men & Motors and Bravo are the two greatest channels in the whole world. Where else can you get a mixture of Superman, the A-Team, Chips, Knight Rider and police camera action type programs. I've never seen Busted but will look out for it. I just can't wait for the Dukes of Hazard to be shown. Whatever happened to the Dukes of Hazard?

Oh, and the regular and frequent programs containing naked women is also a bonus.

Also worthy of mention are the "Rev. Bob Torque Show" and a few others that deal with customisation of cars. We had a researcher asking us for cars to indvidualise for a program on this forum a few months back, the first one being an 850 estate (T5 I think)

All the best, Peter
