i have a v50 D5 which i got rica mapped in 2006. It has performed perfectly since over 40k miles and i intend to rica my new xc60 when it turns up. I also get 5-10% better economy. Thoroughly recommended.
It would only be at risk of overheat if you were using the extra power all the time, lets be honest, you might give it 5 or ten sec full throttle now and then, thats all. |

thanks again to all those thave provided information.
I think i will go for a remap but as yet i'm undecided as to who to use. i have seen some concerning posts regarding rica maps and dead cars! i guess it depends on how you use the extra power. personally , my average speed on motorways is 75 ish, any faster and its stone chip hell! ben |

As mentioned earlier, RICA tunes the V50 D5 geartronic to a lower output than the manual version. This is to protect the transmission.
