RSE Console Removal
How do you remove the centre console housing the RSE unit?
I have looked in the manual and it claims there is a release at the bottom of the unit, but I have tried pushing it (nothing), and I cant get my fingers under it to pull. Any ideas? |

Manual states you can't remove the arm rest on the exec. I presume this is due to the extra wiring (normal car has contacts that touch and pass the 12v/gnd through from gear lever area to back of arm rest) so I would imagine the same is true for cars with RSE, though the arm rest went in so it must be possible to take it out.
I would look here as a start - (also answers your other question on how to reomve the screens) as this shows how to install RSE so may help... http://vccs.volvocars.se/accessories...ar=XC90%202011 |

I was initially thinking of installing the dual screen RSE. Later realised I will lose the removal feature of the center console. I removed that everytime when I go camping. So decide to go with the flip down single LCD (cum player) instead.

yes with RSE you lose the release function. My console was lose and had to take it to the dealer to sort out, but not sure how they removed it - but mine was lose due to some screws not being tightened enough when the RSE was fitted. So can only assume you have to access them from underneath somehow...
