Could someone clarify - does a V70 10V 2435cc Torslanda have a cambelt or timing chain?
Thanks |

The 340 with the 1.4 engine and the 260/760 with the V6 PRV engine and probably the 66 too. I don't know about the new V8, but so far as I know just about everything else for the last 50 years has been either belt or gear driven.
However there's sure to be some I don't know about. Martin |

As far as I remember, BMC A-series engines had timing chains, as do lots of Mercs, but I don't think it's ever really been the Volvo way.
The 1.4 engine in the 340, and the V6 engine in the 260/760 were in essence Renault engines, not Volvo. The B18, B20 and B30 series of the sixteis and seventies were of course OHV engines with fibre timing gears. Jack |
