Dear All.
My second post but as the first was a reply to a previous thread I kept it short. I have moved from sunny Kent to very sunny Saudi Arabia for a few years. in the past I have owns 2 142s, 3 145s and probably about 6 144s. Some have been used on the road, some for spares. I also had a 240 GLT. Anyway, I have seen a few 200 series out here on the roads of Riyadh and I wonder if any 140 series were imported into the country? Life out here is rough on cars, although they don't rust they get sand blasted and driven into the ground, so a 40 year old car is a very rare item here, but I would be interested when Volvo started selling cars here. I have to say there is a lot of Mercs here, a S500 is as common as a ford in the UK. Oh and the petrol is a little bit cheaper here as well. Kind regards Mike Morrison-Smith |

Hi welcome,
No idea when Volvo imports started there. Are you going to import a 140? That would stand out amongst the Mercs... or maybe get a 164 seeing as petrol is cheap! John |

John.
Thank you for your reply. I have been following the rebuild of your 164 with interest and admiration. No, I would not import one here. I get the use of a very nice Ford Expedition for work and you really need a new robust car here. And there are no right hand drive cars in the country, you are not allowed to import them. I know I could get a left hand one. All the best. Mike MS |
