Buying a T5 850(1996)
Im about to take the plunge and possibly buy a T5, ive recently looked at one with 170K on the clock, complete and very in depth FSH,12month T&T in red without leather but very nice velour, drives like a dream etc. The bloke is asking £995 for it, now im not very clued in on these things, is this to much or to little for a car this age? im willing to spend up to £1500 on something like this, am i in any chance close to the mark or what?
thanks

Price doesn`t seem bad to be honest. Miles are a tad steep, but most Volvos are, and it shouldn`t matter if the service history is there. The 12 months T&T is a nice bonus. I`d still check the normal things though, like you would when buying any other car. Also check the turbo boosts as it should, the brakes work well, with no judder when braking from speed, the clutch is good and not too stiff, high or slipping and the suspension sits right.
Another thing to check is all the dashboard lights come on when the igition is turned one space, and they all go out again when started, just to make sure no bulbs have been removed to get rid of an error light! |

£1500 should get you an early V70 T5. There's 2 on autotrader and 1 on pistonheads within your budget.
