(Find a 4 cylinder petrol model with the red block engine and you will not go far wrong.
They will cover vast mileage with minimal maintenance.)

I have seen reference to a 'red block' engine before. What does this mean. My 940 2.o litre has a red engine block.
Was there something special about them?
Thanks

Put very simply, red block means the engine block is made of iron as opposed to white block, which is made of aluminium. The red block engines are more robust as they can run on less rigorous servicing than the white block engines require.
