I recognise those figures as the RICA remap for the 2.0D.

Try asking Russ at RT Mechanics in Haslemere to see if he could do this at a better price.

Do you risk messing up your engine if you do this - added wear and if you do get it done what power increase do you get and mpg?
What happens when you take it in for a Volvo service, will the dealer not touch it?

it doesnt show up in a service, not at all jonnieb alot of places differ in output the place if found does the remap for £495 inc vat(there quite expensive norm around the £300 mark) n takes a couple of hrs....they quoted for a 2.0d remap from 136bhp and 320lb torque to 178bhp and 380lb torque with a 10-15% in fuel saving. how they do it is they just reprogramme the computer which controls the fuel/air intake no dismatling the engine or anything like that, they jus plug their computer into the car and change the settings.

you could always go for a tuning box which will allow you to remove it when you wish and transfer it to another car if you sell. I bought a tunit box for my 2.0d and the difference was amamzing. Power was up to 163 bhp and fuel economy was pretty much the same... around 48mpg. I ve had it for 16 months with no issues to the module or the car.

They aren't the cheapest, arounfd £400, but i think its a case of you get what you pay for.

Don't think they do it for a petrol engine.
