Default wipers not parking (or stopping)

Hmm, after having read Ron Kwas's discussion (Swedish Embassy) about windshield wipers, I think my "home" or "parking" switch is worn. Does this make sense? I re-connected the wires to a replacement switch following Ron's wiring correction. Now the wipers do have two speeds but they don't stop or shut off when the switch is pressed all the way in. I guess I will be removing the wiper assembly and servicing the wiper motor.
BTW, the PO had the wires connected differently (Power red supply to F not P). When you pulled the switch out to either the 3rd or 4th setting the wipers would stop. Also, the washer motor was disconnected. It appears that lead is not working. The washer motor works when tested with a 12V source.

Getting close to having functional wipers....Then on to the horn.

Otter;

I don't have much time to think about this at the moment, but it seems that if switch is connected wrong to motor (or as shown in the erroneous factory diagram), that not being able to turn it OFF is a possible result...see: http://www.sw-em.com/Windshield%20Wi...Factory_Manual ...I'd double check this and report back.

Good Hunting!
