Default Electrically adjustable mirrors and heated seats

Hi,

I have just bought a 850 Tdi GLT Estate 1996 half leather, with the winter pack fitted but seem to have a few small niggles to try and sort out.

Everything seems to work except the Electic mirror adjuster joystick things, which refuse to do anything, and the heated seats, I seem to recall from a post that the seats won't work above a certain ambient temperature, is there anyway of checking them now the weather is not so cold?

The seats and the electric mirrors share the same fuse number 26 and the fuse is OK, is there a relay somewhere?

The other problem is the rear screen wash doesn't work when pressing the button on the end of the stalk the wiper blade moves but no water appears along with no pump sound, I do get water to the front screen when using the normal wash but no water to the headlamp washers

Any pointers ?

Rgds

Ian

If the pump runs when you try the rear wipe then try lifting up the offside rear floor. There is a join in the piping there which comes off on mine when they outlet is blocked, e.g. by being frozen.

The chances are that the seats problem is the common broken wiring in the heated seats issue that the 96 850 has. Ring your local Volvo dealer and ask them, they will tell you whether the recall has been performed. If it hasn't they will do it for free.

In fact almost identical.
I've just bought an 850, the mirrors don't work and the heated seats don't work. In fact the heated seat switches don't light up either. I've replaced the fuse but it wasn't that.
funny enough my rear window jet doesn't work either!
