Here, a 1974 244.

Needs restoration, but ive never seen a '74 car for sale or even known of anyone that owns such an early car. May well have a B20....

Thumbs up

Some day I'll be tempted to hop on a Ferry, really I will. I love these ... I seem to recall that they made them in a 'lovely' bright orange colour as well! Purely personal preference, but it has a purity of design about it. These early cars let the shape speak for itself, rather than going with a raft of add - ons as so often added later in production runs. A prime example which comes to mind is the Saab 99. It's a classic shape that makes no excuses.

At the other end of the spectrum btw, I was ogling over more humble transport: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C132510/

There's something cheeky and dinky about those cars lol, I love the look of them. Noddy on steroids eh?

Regards,

Tony.

Default An early one!!

Well more like a 140 than a 140, well sort of, the rear is any way.

B20?? I may be wrong but i dont think that that engine was available in a 244 over here, so i recon it will be a B21?

Any way, surely someone has the time to get it back on the road??

fantastic colour!!, it would polish up nice...Steve!

The Uk got B21's right from the very start of 244 production, as did most of Europe. It's the US folks who refuse to belive that the first 200's got B21's as their cars came with the B20 for the first year.

My early '78 244 got a boot lid in that colour!

I admit that when considering which of it's many colours to respray the car in, I do look at the boot and think what the hell it's a '70s car and I am a child of the '70s!

Not had the nuts to go ahead and do it yet though!
