Sadly, yes. 5 years ago this month. It lasted a few weeks and then died on the A3 requiring a truck back to PGi Farnham where they quoted us more than we had just paid for the car to fix it. After 2 years wrangling over it we finally got to court and got a CCJ (our car was scrapped) which they failed to pay as they had "ceased trading" shortly after I commenced the court proceedings and "had no assets" despite the £250k-odd value of cars still on their same forecourt and website under their alternative company name (which has now also liquidated). The company following THAT one was struck off the Companies register last year but they still have two forecourts full of cars under what name it's anyone's guess. The company that had "ceased trading" (according to their defence to the court, in writing and orally to the Judge) in July 2006 sold at least one car and warranty in its name in February 2007 which they lost another court case over in September last year.

I've lost count of the number of people who have contacted me with their own stories of crap cars and crap service from them, but really you have to read this thread at least, as this is the one that finally got people to realise what a piece of work the proprietor is. http://vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.p...&highlight=pgi (Davey263 on the VPCUK forum is David Wilce, by his own proud admission on another thread.)

Thumbs up Pgi

I've got to be honest, they sound like a good garage, at least they are trying to make a effort to return business

Just to let you know the Pewley Group Investments was the name on the credit card receipt from their chip n pin machine . I did receive a written receipt for the work on a photocopied template from PGI volvo estates.
I am just glad that I didnt get screwed by them as you did Swede.

So presumably they have a bank account in that company name - don't banks need checks and references for opening accounts?? No wonder they get into trouble. Unless of course you can set your chip and pin machine to say whatever you like, like a fax header! Since Barclays Bank told PGi Farnham to get lost and find another bank I would have thought it would be difficult to get references for an account.

Just out of interest Trojan, what date did you actually purchase the car in 2008 when you got the PGi Volvo Estates photocopied template receipt, as if it was after, I think 26 July, then they were in liquidation at the time and they should be reported for that. I would imagine there are some penalties for that offence if not for taking the money in another name which may or may not actually exist as a company. Please post the date of the purchase so we can all know whether he's sold ANOTHER car in a defunct company name, since that's what he did to bring about the court case he lost last September, only this time he sold a dud car in the PGi Farnham name 7 months after it, by his own evidence orally and in writing to Aldershot and Farnham Court, ceased trading.
