When I got my last car remapped (850 T5 Auto) it made a massive difference to the performance and a slightly better economy but the main difference was the power, turbocharged cars respond better to remaps although I did see a massive difference on an old BMW I had, it was a 535i manual and was pretty fast in the first place, but after the chip (i fitted myself) it was an unbelieveable difference in acceleration but the top speed was reduced, weird, I think it also makes a difference what company you use, I had a remap done on the same T5 I just mentioned with a different company and the car seemed slower than when I took it to him so i got my money back and had the car changed back, but then got the remap with a reputable company and was well impressed, I would ask specifically people who have had a remap done on the same model as yours to see if its worth the money as the slight increase in economy may take a while to get your moneys worth
