Default 1998 V70 Mechanic Needed in San Francisco

Can anyone recommend a non-Gucci repair shop in SF? We just got a $1900 estimate that included things like cleaning the battery terminals for $40, replacing the license plate bulbs for $45, etc. when the only thing wrong was the temp sender. Thanks.

LOL, that's not Gucci, it's robbery!

But why are you asking about SF on a board in England? Besides the fact that these folks all drive around in the right side of the cars and on the wrong side of the road But, these are really good people and will not steer you wrong.

Could I suggest you go to this web site:

http://www.brickboard.com/SHOPS/

and plug in CA for california and take a look at some of the shops. The temp sensor should be done as well as the thermostat, they are in the same area, and a really good shop will reccomend doing an antifreeze flush.

Given a wrench, screwdriver, a small pail; you could replace the ECT sensor as well. It is not rocket science. Just use OEM parts.
