Default Would a faulty ABS module stop cruise control working?

I know for sure that the ABS module on my S80 T6 is playing up, I know the symptoms are generally that the dashboard turns into a 1980s disco, but would it take out cruise control too? Also, while the failed brakes warning of doom is showing, the odometer freezes. Cruise control light comes on, but it doesn't cruise.

Any thoughts?

Probably not much help, but when the ABS module on a Mercedes C Class I had a while ago kept playing up, the Cruise Control would always stop working.

I am pretty sure the ABS and cruise control are linked in some way.

Have a search on the forum about cruise control as I think I remember others saying the cruise control did not work when they had the ABS problem.

Possibly unrelated, but I recently had an electrical problem with my gearbox (threw a code) and the limpmode that it went into also disabled the cruise (the text would still appear, but it wouldn't function).

Well I guess logically speaking, if the car is telling you to stop as soon as possible because of catastrophic brake failure, the last thing it wants you to do is cruise.

Yes the ABS and Cruise are linked.... Neither worked on my V70 T5 (mk2) untill I performed the soldering tip detailed on these boards.

My symptoms were, ABS - Dead, TRACS - Light on, not working, Odo not counting, Cruise - Dead

Good luck

Well, I'll find out tomorrow if it was. The unit has been pulled and re-soldered (looked a bit manky really). Just got to find some silicon now to seal it all up.

I have it in mind that Cruise uses the ABS sensors to judge your speed.

All good news then. Cruise was one of the main reasons for buying it, it was bit dissapointing to find it wasn't working.

Blimey, it only flippin worked! Just put the ABS module back, all the fault codes are gone (with the exception of the service light on the dash), I forgot to remove the ABS fuses though but it still seems to be fine.

Happy days. Didn't have silicone, so I sealed it with titanium putty, that lid is going NOWHERE!

Here's hoping it revives the cruise control.
