Question My first thread here, swapping Radios..

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a nice cleane 850 estate for my parents. There is nothing wrong with it at all but one thing that I could do for them is replace the standard radio (without CD player) with one that has.

My question is should the model with the CD player at the very top (SC-805 for example) simply swap with the one that's in it (I think the SC-801)?

I have images of the back of the one with the CD player. I dont know if there are any on here to compare?

I would guess they should simply interchange, what do you guys reckon?

Many thanks in advance.

the 805 is a straight swap, just dont buy the 901, as it needs a separate amp

Hi, well I am in a bidding war on eBay.

I am willing to pay a decent price for one that works etc.

if you have an Ipod, why not just do as I did, and install an Ipod kit onto your 801?

who needs a single CD player, when I have 160gb of music!

Hi there thanks for this. A great idea but the car is my parents and they are not quite up to speed on the iPod front. The cd player version of the standard stereo is my primary option at the moment. I had a good look at the article you produced and it's very good!!!
