V50 2.0D Fuel Tank
Right folks,
We all know the fuel range on the 2.0d is quite gash due to the pants mpg (the claimed mpg is balls) I have only just found out that the d5 fuel tank is actually a wee bit bigger tank @ 60 litres compared to the std tank of 52 litres. Every little helps My question... are the tanks completely interchangable? I don't see why not. If so... how much does the tank off a d5 cost new? I reckon it'd be easy enough to get one from a scrappies maybe. hmmmmmm What's your thoughts? Jase |

There might not be a connection for the additive, which might be a problem if your car needs additive.
Just a thought. |

I agree with Grasshopper above. It will be expensive, hassle and for what, another 80 miles or so.
On my 2.0D I normally get to around 460 miles before refueling. Also car will not then be standard, so there might be insurance implications, unless you had it officially checked and approved by an authorized Volvo dealer. |
