Its in the roof lining above the antenna window - there are airbags there too (the lining will pull down ok if you start at the place where the wires go in from the window).
The connectors are proprietary and I think would be tricky to get a meter into - but you could check the connections whilst the radio is on to see if there is any noises? |

I take a look at it and see if it's something I feel comfortable with. A friend of mine said her husband said he though it was the head unit because there was no static and that the CD player works fine. I'll play with it a little and see what comes of it.

The amp is in the boot passenger side.If you lift back the carpet area on your left you will find the amp.

Finally got my radio fixed. The tech at Volvo had a time trouble shooting, replaced IAM(i think that's what it was) and it didn't solve the problem, not sure what else they tried, but it ended up being the AM/FM transmitter. Not cheap, but back to normal. Thanks for all the tips, off to the gym to cycle!
