Has anyone here painted the front grill black on their 850? I've established that it's plastic. What paint do I use?

Also, has anyone painted the grey parts of the bumper so as to give totally colour coded bumpers like the V70? Is it feasible and does it look good?

I've already replaced the 850 Est. rear lights for V70 ones and they look much better.

Standard paint should do the trick, but you will need to use a plastic primer first, and be warned that stone chips and stuff can make it look really nasty! You could get it done properly, but I have no idea how much you want to spend on this.....

Ive done it with black paint having masked off the chrome edges and removed the diagonal bar.

The clips holding the bar will probably break off if you have to redo it, so you'll need to stick the bar on with double-sided or something that isn't permanent since due to stone chips, you'll have to repaint on a regular basis.

Satin black was what I used, and it looks pretty good with about four coats.

On the subject of paint, my front bumper is peeling badly. (car-wash damage I'm told).

Painted it once with humbrol bumper paint but now that is coming off and there's no way i'd ever take it through a car wash!

Can anyone recommend a solution, short of getting hold of a replacement bumper>
