Default 2004 S40 T5 Spark Plug Socket Size

Hi,

As per title - does anybody know what size socket I need to remove the spark plugs on a 2004 S40 T5?

Will also check the plug gaps - does anybody know the correct gap size?

Many thanks,

not sure what size, but i know from changing mine on my v70 52 plate that it needs to be very long, @ leat 10 inches. Plus only use genuing volvo plugs, I tried some denzo plugs & was told that they were the same/better, but the engine ran a lot hotter & i got 2 or 3 mile per gallon less. I have noe gone back to the volvo ones, perfect..

surgest you buy the plugs & then take one to halfords/ local car spares shop & match it up, normally a long tube that you use a screw driver horizontaly in the end to use as a lever to turn it

Thanks for your reply - I do have a long extension arm for my socket set so it should reach ok.

Looks like the common sizes of plugs are 16mm or 22mm - can anyone confirm what size for an S40?
