Default 1998 V70 TDI Rear Exhaust Pipe Diameter?

Hi there,

My rear exhaust hanger has finally given way to the tin worm and I need to source a replacement repair hanger as soon as possible.

Can anyone confirm the diameter of the pipe at the rear where the hanger fits for me please, so that I can order one today?

As it is a 1998 I assume it will be 60mm. PFS could not confirm this when I phoned to check, so I just want to be sure. I am away from the car today so I am unable to measure it myself.

Many thanks in advance.

Dan

What you want is one of these at 63mm:-

Thanks for the link ShadeTek.

Now I'm more confused though. I was led to believe that it was either going to be 60mm or 64mm not 63mm. For some reason there might be a difference with the TDI pipe width from the model year guide. I know it's not much, but it might mean the difference between being a bit of a squeeze or a rattle - if you get my meaning.

I think I might just as well play-it-safe and measure it when I get home later, so I know it's just right. I'll post the diameter on here for future reference.

Thanks again.

Dan

Hi again,

Just for the record, the pipe measured 60mm in diameter where the hanger attaches. I'll let you know how I get on.

I don't think a few mm will be of concern considering how much the pipe will expand and contract with the heat. As long as it is tightened up, it will be fine.
