RE: S60 2.0T ECU Upgrade
Zax,
What I'm about to say is simply for the record. Honestly, please please please don't use it as a deciding factor because in my opinion it has little relevance. Anyway, what I wanted to point out is that RICA has actually been around for longer than Superchips, and started tuning Volvos (old school tuning of course) on the P1800. Volvo is the RICA specialisation! According to RICA, the torque for the 225 bhp upgrade is 360 Nm. Adam. |

Have to apologise to Adam. I looked at the 2.5 D figures instead of the D5. Thye are next to one another which caused confusion in my brain. I am having seriously thoughts about the upgrade to reduce the hesistation fact on my D5 auto.

RE: S60 2.0T ECU Upgrade
Zax,
The deed has now been done. All I can say is BLIMEY!!!. The Superchip treatment has completely transformed my car in take up and midrange. Certainly feels like there is 200+ Bhp going through the front wheels. Cutting through all the talk about the ECU upgrades out there. I would say if they all do what the Superchip has done for my 2.0T you will have a smile on your face for a very long time. Cheers Baze |

a little off topic but i notice you asked for VIN numbers when upgrading the ECU's, is this info then available to volvo dealers through your "Dealers" section of you web site, thus removing the invisibility of the remap ??? just a thought scott |

RE: S60 2.0T ECU Upgrade
No, VIN numbers are kept for our own records only, so should a customer ever require support for any reason, we can identify whether the enquiry is for a car that has been either serviced or upgraded by us and therefore we know the vehicle history and can provide better support.
For example, should a RICA upgraded car be sold to someone else, we can no longer link the customer with the car, so we can only do this via the VIN. Should the new owner ever approach us, we know what work has been done to the car, at least by us. Hope this helps! Adam. |

so thats the reason, makes sense really as in theory the same car could come through your doors in the hands of various people carrying different reg plates each time. thanks for clearing that up scott |

Yes exactly. In fact, several customer have already changed plates to private ones! That's why the only way to track vehicle work history is with the VIN.
