Default 340 1.7 GLE 1988 Changes in idling speed with engine temp???????

My Volvo 340 GLE 1.7 1988 has a strange idling problem when the engine is at or just below operating temperature the engine correctly at around 850-900 rpm, but as soon as the engine gets a little warm after waiting in traffic the idling speed increases to 1500 rpm. Apart from this the engine runs and starts fine even after 205,000 miles. Has anyone had a similar problem or knows of a cure. If it is a matter of adjusting the mixture/idling settings on the carb please you describe the location of the screw and direction of rotation for decreasing the idling rpm.

Many thanks in advance Rob
